BOONE, Iowa—Victoria Sinclair announced today that she will be seeking election to the Iowa House in District 47 which includes all of Greene County and most of Boone County.
Sinclair grew up in Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School. She went on to earn Bachelor’s Degrees in Public Administration and Political Science, graduating with distinguished honors at the top of her class, from the University of Northern Iowa.
Today she works for U.S. Congressman Steve King in his Ames office where she is responsible for nine counties and the Des Moines metro. She meets with constituents in every town and helps them navigate the complex web of federal bureaucracy to resolve issues they face, such as IRS and VA issues. She has also served on the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Iowa’s Water Future Task Force on behalf of Congressman King.
With experience serving constituents in and around Boone, Sinclair will bring the knowledge and determination that is needed to the Legislature. “I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Greene and Boone Counties in the Iowa House,” said Sinclair. “The people of House District 47 are my friends and neighbors, and I have already worked with many of them when it comes to dealing with federal issues. I’m eager to be more helpful at the state level where local government has a much bigger impact. I’ll work to invest in education, improve Iowa’s business climate, protect families, and focus on good government that works for the people.”
Sinclair has served on the staff of the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State for the past seven summers. She and her husband, Evan, are involved in the new Boone chapter of Optimist International where they work to enhance opportunities for youth in the Boone community. Her family is also involved with racing, and that is what naturally attracted her to Boone for the local racetrack.
The Sinclair’s are expecting their first son this summer. They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone.
