The Boone Toreador Girls Basketball team had their season come to an end Monday night, losing to Center Point-Urbana 69-47 at the State Tournament in Des Moines. The Toreadors trailed by only 3pts after quarter #1, but were outscored 21-15 in quarter 2 and trailed at halftime 32-23. CPU was able to go on a 20-13 run in the 3rd quarter and led 52-36 after 3 and the Toreadors were never able to get much closer than that. Boone was led by Caitlynne Shadle who had 17pts (including her 1000th career point in the 4th quarter) and Emma Dighton chipped in 13.

The Toreadors wrap up their season at 22-2, having accumulated a 41-8 record the last 2yrs, 2 Raccoon River Conference titles (1 undefeated), 2 state berths (1st in Boone’s 5 on 5 history) and 2 1000 point career scorers (Claire Sandvig and Caitlynne Shadle) Congrats Boone on a fine season.
