Posted on 07 March 2018 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Farm Bureau will be sponsoring a “Cram the Cab” food drive event during National Agriculture Week, March 18-24, at the Boone Fareway. The goal of this event is to cram a tractor cab with non-perishable food item donations. All donations received will be distributed throughout local food pantries in Boone, Madrid and Ogden.

The public is invited to be a part of this effort by donating a bag of food items. Pre-made bags will be available for purchase at the Boone Fareway from March 18 – 24. Items collected will be distributed to local food pantries on Monday, March 26.

National Agriculture Week is a time to celebrate agriculture and the food it provides us. “Iowa farmers take pride in producing so many quality choices for today’s consumers,” says Jeff Westrum, Boone County Farm Bureau Board President. “We want to do our part in ensuring all community members having access to these food products which is why we have organized this “Cram the Cab” event.”
