DES MOINES, Iowa—U.S. Senator Joni Ernst announced that House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman, Trey Gowdy will be the special guest for the Jobs, Opportunities, and New Ideas PAC’s 4th Annual Roast and Ride on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
The event will take place at the Central Iowa Expo in Boone. The Ride portion will begin at Big Barn Harley Davidson in Des Moines.
The Ride will kick off from Big Barn Harley Davidson in Des Moines and will be escorted by local law enforcement to ensure safety. It will be about 49 miles, lasting approximately 65 minutes. The scenic Ride will pass Camp Dodge where Ernst served in the Iowa National Guard. Riders will then proceed north, cross the Mile Long Bridge at Saylorville Lake and pass Big Creek State Park. At Madrid, riders will head west and cross the Des Moines River with a view of the famous High Trestle Trail Bridge before continuing on to Central Iowa Expo. Click here to view the route.
Participation in the Ride is included in the ticket price. Proceeds from the Ride will be donated to the Travis Mills Foundation. Travis is one of five surviving quadruple amputee service members in the country who created a retreat for injured veterans and their families, where attendees take part in adaptive activities and bond with fellow veterans.

The Roast will take place at the Central Iowa Expo in Boone. Tickets to the June 9th Roast and Ride are $20 (children 12 and under are free), and can now be purchased at RoastAndRide.com.
