BOONE, Iowa—The Optimist Club of Boone is taking applications from residents that would like to display the U.S. Flag on five different holidays. Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day are the five holidays and club members would set the flags at dawn and taken them down at dusk. The program has become very popular in a number of communities and is an important part of fund raising for the club.
