Boone Releases 2018 Consumer Confidence Report

Posted on 08 May 2018 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Every year, the City of Boone and other communities release a public report on the operations of their water processing facilities.  The City’s 2018 Consumer Confidence Report is now available.  The report includes the source water assessment and water quality results collected in the past year.  City Engineer Dan Scott noted that there were two-self reported incidents when the turbidity in the processed water exceeded predetermined levels.  Scott also noted that since information was collected, the media filters have been rehabilitated, bring them back to design standards and turbidity levels have returned to normal levels.

Nitrates are also an important issue and Scott says the report indicates that there were no nitrate violations noted in 2017.

More information on the report is available on the Boone City website.
