Candidates Seek Support, Push Voter Turnout

Posted on 04 June 2018 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Democratic Party Central Committee hosted the 2nd Annual “Picnic for the People” Saturday at the McHose Park Shelter House in Boone.  A year ago, the event was held as an alternative to Senator Joni Ernst’s Roast and Ride at the Central Iowa Expo site east of Boone.  A year ago, there were quite a few Democrats testing the waters about a run for Governor.  That field has now narrowed to five and three of the five returned to Boone Saturday.  Dr. Andy McGuire, John Norris and Ross Wilburn spoke to attendees about getting out to vote and of course about supporting their campaign.
