Boone County Unofficial Primary Election Results

BOONE, Iowa—Just under 14% of the eligible voters in Boone County participated in the Primary Election Tuesday.  There were 1,054 Republican votes cast, 1,589 Democratic votes and 31 Libertarian Party votes cast.

The contested races locally were in House District 47 where three Republican candidates sought a chance to be on the November General Election ballot.  In Boone County, Don Batt received 343 votes, Phil Thompson had 266 votes and Victoria Sinclair received 187 votes.  However, when the Greene County tally is included, Thompson is the apparent winner with 589 votes, Batt with 380 votes and Sinclair with 259.

Boone County Republicans support Lauren Novak over Kimberly Rinker as the candidate for Boone County Treasurer.  Novak received 472 votes and Rinker received 434 votes.
