BOONE, Iowa—4-Her’s and FFA members registered animals expected to take part in the Boone County Fair on July 1st and over 800 entries are expected. Many of the entries will be moved into the Fairgrounds Wednesday.
According to the information from Boone County Extension and Outreach, 86 beef projects are expected which will include 13 Pen-of Three Market Beef. A new beef category will be herd builder heifers which as attracted over a half dozen entries. 144 sheep are anticipated. 109 hogs are expected. There are 56 horse projects registered to come to the fair.
Smaller animals include dogs, cats, rabbits, poultry and small pets. Other entries include meat goats, dairy goats and three-dozen dairy cows. More than a half dozen exotic animals will also be on the fairgrounds, including alpacas.
The entries come from 13 Community 4-H clubs, 4 Project 4-H clubs and 3 FFA Chapters that participate in Boone County.
