ANKENY, Iowa—Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) has named Shelli Allen to Vice President of Enrollment Services, a new position that oversees all aspects of enrollment and student services across the College.
“We are continuing our emphasis on serving all current and prospective student populations. It’s about further improving the student experience at DMACC and Shelli brings expertise, energy and an innovative perspective to this position,” said DMACC President Rob Denson. “We are excited to have her part of the DMACC leadership team.”
Allen will oversee student development, financial assistance, high school relations, registration and marketing and public relations departments.
“I’m thrilled to be at DMACC, and I feel like Central Iowa is exactly where we belong. Having lived in the Midwest for my entire life, I’m happy to call DMACC my home,” said Allen. “I haven’t had an opportunity to connect with many students yet, but I have visited all of our campuses and believe we are well positioned to serve the students and communities in which the DMACC campuses reside. I’m looking forward to the work we will do in the future!”
Allen was recently Vice President of Student Development at East Central College in Union, Missouri and earlier held a number of positions at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri.
Allen received her Bachelor of Arts at Truman State University, Master of Arts in Higher Education at the University of Iowa and is close to completing her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri.
She has also served as a board member of the Missouri Community College Association.
