BOONE, Iowa—The roofing project at the Ericson Public Library is expected to be completed in the next week or two. The work focused on two aspects, replacing the roof on the north addition to the library which was the originally constructed about 25 years ago and fixing some water issues on the south portion or historic part of the library. The roofing project also gave the city a chance to improve the energy efficiency with the installation of additional insulation. That made the project eligible for an energy rebate through Alliant expected to be more than $14,700. The low bidding contractor for the work was Central States Roofing with a bid of just over $79,000. The project was funded in the city’s Capital Projects Program by setting aside Local Option Sales Tax funds over the past three years.
