BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Fire Department held it’s annual awards banquet this past weekend. Information released on the departments social media page noted that while they primarily host the banquet to thank firefighters for all of their hard work in the past year, it is also a chance to thank families for putting up with the departments members leaving at a moment’s notice. This dinner was no different than several this past year as the banquet was started late and was rushed to leave early for 2 separate dispatches for possible structure fires.
