BOONE, Iowa—The Annual Membership meeting for the Boone County Historical Society was recessed in January, after the board and officers submitted their resignations. A small group of volunteers agreed to serve as a temporary board in an effort to preserve the Society. Tonight, the Annual Membership meeting will be reconvened at 7:00 p.m. in the lower lever meeting room of the Boone County Historical Society, 602 Story Street in Boone.
Charles Irwin is an instructor at the DMACC Boone Campus and a former Executive Director of the Boone County Historical Society says the meeting will include a brief status update and an election of officers and board members.
Efforts were made to contact the membership, but records were limited. All members, including those that secure a membership prior to the meeting this evening will be eligible to vote. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to use the Sixth Street entrance.
