Council Looks to Fill Vacancy with Appointment

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council plans to fill a vacancy on the City Council by appointment.  4th Ward Council Member Kevin Hicks submitted his resignation.  Boone Mayor John Slight on Tuned In said Hicks indicated that he didn’t feel he could make enough time available to meet his council responsibilities.  Slight says the plan is to seek interested individuals from the 4th ward and have the Council make an appointment at their regular meeting on April 1st.  Slight said the appointment will only be until the next municipal election which will be held in November.

Slight says interested residents of the 4th Ward should submit a resume’ to Boone City Administrator Bill Skare at the Boone City Hall, 923 8th Street, by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22nd.

The 4th Ward in Boone is the northwest portion of the city.
