Sallen ‘DORS Award Recipient

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School Board took a moment during Monday’s meeting to recognize the most recent recipient of the ‘DORS Award.  Joe Sallen is a High School Spanish teacher was described has having a passion for learning and bringing that passion to not just his students but all students.  Sallen has among other things, developed a Gamer’s Club which as attracted and offered a number of students opportunities for participation.

The Boone School District ‘DORS Award stands for Dedicated, Outstanding and Respected Service and is presented monthly to someone in the BCSD who “really gets it” when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in a positive impact on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.
