BOONE, Iowa—The National Weather Service will be conducting the 2019 Severe Weather Spotter Class in Boone County this evening. Every year, classes are held to train or refresh spotters for the next season of summer storms. In the past, the National Weather Service would hold a number of classes, usually one in each county. That is not the case anymore. Last year we did not have a class in Boone County, but the class returns this year and will be held this evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Boone City Hall Auditorium. The class is free and is open to anyone that is interested. No registration is required. Those that are interested just need to show up.
