Fire Causes Minor Damage to Downtown Building

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Fire Department was called to the scene of a Sunday morning at 709 Keeler Street in Boone.  The call came in about 6:15 a.m.  Fire fighters reported that utilities needed to be disconnected because the fire was in a difficult location.  Residents of the upstairs apartment were displaced and the business, Yokes Railhouse, will be affected until repairs can be made.  The exact cause of the fire was not released.  No injuries were reported.  Fire fighters were on the scene a couple of hours. According to Boone County records, the building is owned by Kirk Vinchattle.
