BOONE, Iowa—The paving of Quartz Avenue to the north of the Industrial Park Road to 190th Street was a collaborative project involving Boone County, the City of Boone and on the private side, Fareway Stores, Incorporated. At the Monday meeting of the Boone City Council, Garrett Piklapp with Fareway Stores, Inc. presented Boone Mayor John Slight with a check for $100,000. Piklapp said during the presentation the impact of the completed project has been a benefit to Fareway.
Boone Mayor John Slight says Fareway has been a good partner. He says he expects the collaboration to continue on the proposed Iowa DOT overpass project planned east of Boone.
