BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors approved their annual “Be Kind to Animals Week” proclamation during their board meeting Wednesday. “Be Kind to Animals Week” is held May 5th through the 11th this year. Joining the board, Vanessa Heenan, Shelter Director for the Boone Area Humane Society and Louie and Goliath.
Vanessa Heenan, Shelter Director for the Boone Area Humane Society joined Supervisors Bill Zinnel, Steve Duffy and Chad Behn for the “Be Kind to Animals Week” proclamation. Heenan has Louie on the left and Goliath on the right, both rescue dogs from Texas. Heenan adopted Louie and just recently began working with Goliath.
