Here are few basic guidelines to keep in mind based on the U.S. Flag Code:
- Always make sure the flag never touches the ground or anything below it.
- Do not display the American flag in inclement weather, unless it’s an all-weather flag.
- If you want to fly the flag after sunset, keep it well lit.
- When you hang the flag vertically on a flat surface, make sure the Union (blue section) is on the observer’s left.
