BOONE, Iowa—Boone Public Works has announced their intent to begin spraying for mosquitoes beginning tonight and continuing Thursday. Spraying occurs at dusk when mosquitoes are most active. Earlier, Public Works Director John Rouse said one of the issues has been the temperatures, especially at night. Of course all spraying is weather dependent. Boone Mayor John Slight, on the KWBG “Tuned In” show Tuesday morning cautioned people that the spraying would not get rid of the gnat problem which has been around a couple of weeks already.
