BOONE, Iowa—The National Weather Service released a special weather statement for Boone and Greene Counties because of the current thunderstorm activity:
An area of thunderstorms is moving very slowly over Boone and Greene Counties early this Wednesday morning. Radar rainfall estimates in the area indicate that 1 to over 2 inches of rain has already fallen from just north of Boone northwest to Boxholm to near Churdan in Greene County. Localized ponding of water and possible street flooding may occur with the locally heavy rain moving through these areas over the next hour or two. Please remain cautious if driving early this morning and avoid any flooded areas. Please report any flooding to local law enforcement.
