The reconstruction of the green space at 8th and Story Streets has been moving very quickly.  The central area will have a band shelter, will accommodate the annual Christmas tree and will be available for rent for special occasions.

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has produced a weather briefing concerning the increasing confidence of severe weather late this evening into Tuesday morning. The main concerns will be damaging wind gusts and localized flash flooding, but large hail may be possible early on in the event. Isolated brief tornadoes are also possible.
