OTTUMWA, Iowa—A funeral service has been set for 81-year old Dean King of Ottumwa, Iowa who passed away on August 16, 2019 while under hospice care in Bellevue, Nebraska. Dean was born in Boone, Iowa and graduated from United Community High School. He had a 30-year career with the Iowa State University Extension Service, serving for several years in the 1960’s and 70’s as the Boone County 4-H Youth Director.
The service for Dean will be held at the First Lutheran Church, Ottumwa, Iowa on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be held at the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa on Monday, September 30, 2019.
Visitation will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa, Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. The family will be present at that time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa, the Iowa 4-H Foundation or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
