Ray Defeats Galvan in Close Council Race, Park Commission Results Still Pending

BOONE, Iowa—Boone City Council Member Steven Ray was re-elected to a fifth term on Boone City Council Tuesday, picking up 841-votes to 781-votes for Carrie Galvan.  It was Galvan’s first run for office.

Boone Mayor John Slight ran unopposed and received 1,402 votes, 2nd Ward Council Member BJ McGinn was unopposed and received 378 votes and 4th Ward Council Member Terry Moorman was unopposed and received 208 votes.

The results for the positions on the Boone Park Commission have not been tabulated yet.  There were several residents that sought write-in votes and there were apparently more than 500 votes cast.
