BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Firefighters Association presented a recent grant award they received from the Union Pacific Railroad. The $15,000 grant will pay for equipment that will be replacing articles from the older Jaws of Life. The new equipment, a spreader and cutter are battery powered, a little easier to handle and can also be used both indoors and outdoors.
