BOONE, Iowa—The Salvation Army of Boone & the Boone County Emergency Management Office has officially announced their First Annual First Responders Bell Ring Day.
On Saturday, December 14th various first responder departments will be ringing bells in Boone, Ogden and Madrid for The Salvation Army. As a part of this new annual event, the various departments will be competing to see which who will raise the highest total in their kettle. The winning department will receive a traveling trophy and a holiday pizza party.
“We are really excited to start this new annual tradition” stated Lt. James Beardsley, Salvation Army Corps Officer. “The Salvation Army and our various first responders work together at various emergencies throughout Boone. We are very grateful to Lance Kooiker, Boone County Emergency Management Coordinator, for spearheading this new event”.
The Salvation Army is asking the Boone, Madrid, and Ogden communities to help raise a single day goal of $4,000.00. To help your favorite department win the competition, you may visit them from 10;00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- Boone Hy-Vee: Boone Fire Department
- Boone Fareway: Boone Police Department
- Boone Walmart: Boone County Sheriff’s Department
- Ogden Casey’s: City of Ogden
- Madrid Casey’s: City of Madrid
