On Saturday, December 14th, the Boone County First Responders handled the bell ringing duties for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign in Boone, Ogden and Madrid. As part of this new annual event, the various departments competed for the highest total raised in their kettle. The winning department was awarded a traveling trophy and a pizza party. The winner for 2019 was the Boone County Sheriff’s Department – raising $1,555.3. Second place was the Boone Police Department. The trophy was awarded on Monday, December 23rd by Lt. James Beardsley from the Salvation Army.
