BOONE, Iowa—It took much longer than originally anticipated, but Destiny Homes was finally able to hold a formal ground breaking ceremony for their development on West Second Street. The city had acquired the former mobile home court after is was vacated. Several developers made proposals for building homes on the site and the Council’s Economic Development Committee recommended approval of the proposal made by Destiny Homes. Their plan calls for as many as 17-houses to be built on the ground. Weather was the most serious holdup in the past year, when wet conditions delayed much of the infrastructure work.
