On Thursday afternoon, Governor Reynolds held a press conference to update on the corona virus. In spite of rumors, the Governor is NOT calling for a shelter in place order. In fact, she commented that is wasn’t even “on the table” for discussion. In addition, while she stated that the National Guard is involved in planning, there is not talk of activating them for any purpose.
As has been the practice since COVID 19 has become a pandemic, the recommendation from Governor Reynolds continues to be that people who are sick should stay home, wash your hands properly and if you do have symptoms and need to see the doctor, call first.
As of Thursday afternoon, there have been 44 cases of positive testing in 13 Iowa Counties, and 642 negative tests. However, as testing capacity increases, so could the number of positive results.
