EXTENDED CLOSURE INFORMATION

Alliant Energy is temporarily suspending disconnections for all of Iowa and Wisconsin customers during the public health emergency related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. In addition, the company plans to waive late fees in Iowa. Alliant Energy is encouraging customers to set up payment plans based on their ability to pay.

Boone – Augustana Lutheran Church has cancelled all services and activities thru 4/30/20

Boone- Boone Community Schools – classes and activities cancelled through April 30th.

Boone –Boone Community Schools Food Service Program will continue to operate with “grab and go” breakfast and hot lunches available for pick-up at three locations. During the pick-up time,students will receive a hot lunch for Monday and a cold breakfast for Tuesday morning. Free to students 18 and under.  REVISION AS OF 3.27.2020 – Students need not be present at time of pick up.  Sites:  The Boone High School west entrance in the “U” shaped drive on Monona Street and 7th Street from 11:00-11:30 a.m Franklin Elementary by the parent drop-off area at the Activities/Cafeteria entrance from 12:00-12:30 p.m. Open Bible Church parking lot at 1224 Hancock Drive from 12:00-12:30 p.m.  UPDATE on 4.1.2020 – Need not be a recipient of Free and Reduced Meals to take part.

Boone – Boone County Hospital – All employees and visitors entering Boone County Hospital will have their temperatures taken at one of three entrances. The three entrances are:1.  Emergency entrance – open 24/7          2.  Atrium entrance – open Monday through Friday 5:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.        3.  Southwest entrance by Physical Therapy – open Monday through Friday 5:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Please aware that ALL other entrances into the hospital will be locked until further notice. Should an employee or visitor have a temp above 100.0 F or present with respiratory symptoms, they will be directed as to what to do.  As of 3.26.2020, only one adult (18 of age and over) designated caregiver will be allowed per patient

Boone – Boone County Hospital – has set up a Facebook page specifically to keep Boone county residents updated on Covid-19 news.Find it here: https://www.facebook.com/BCHCOVID19/  They have setup a COVID Hotline operated by Boone County Hospital Staff: 515-433-8989

Boone – Boone National Little League suspension of activities.  Goal is to start games on Monday, May 11th.  Teams will be notified of practice times.

Boone – Boone Pioneer Center – closed until further notice.  No congregate meals.

Boone – Central Christian Church has cancelled all services and activities until further notice.

Boone – City of Boone –  City Hall, Public Works and the Parks Office are closed to the public. Boone City Parks and trails are currently open to the public for recreation but due to COVID-19, effective immediately, playground equipment and shelter houses are closed until further notice. All park restrooms remain closed and water fountains are turned off. The horseshoe pitching courts, skate park, dog park, disc golf, along with the tennis, pickleball, sand volleyball, softball/baseball and basketball courts will remain open at this time. Team sports, pickup games and contact play are prohibited. The City will not install caution tape or fencing at the parks; residents are asked to do their part to keep our family, friends, neighbors and community safe. Signage will be posted at each park regarding the closure. We appreciate your help in flattening the curve and practicing social distancing during this unprecedented time.

Boone – DMACC – facilities closed to the public through April 12. Student Services and Library services available remotely/online.  Classes and activities cancelled.

Boone – Ericson Public Library –closed

Boone – Fareway Meat and Grocery –  all Fareway stores and meat markets will be open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. As part of these new hours, the first hour of business from 8 – 9 a.m. will be reserved for those customers who are 65 and over, expecting mothers, those living with a serious chronic medical condition, and anyone with an underlying medical condition that increases the susceptibility to serious illness from COVID-19.

Boone – First Baptist Church – church is closed until further notice.  Sunday services will be streamed on their Facebook page at 10:30 or can be accessed via the church’s website

Boone – HyVee – store hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, until further notice. Customers age 60 or older, expectant mothers and anyone with an underlying health condition that makes them more vulnerable to illness can shop from 7 to 8 a.m., seven days a week Hy-Vee Market Grille is for carry-out only.

Boone –  IMPACT Community Action Partnership – As of , March 23, 2020, all IMPACT offices will be closed to walk-in traffic and all services will be conducted over the phone. Boone County Resource Centers will still provide monthly food pantry services. However, families must call first.

Boone – Iron Horse Antique Mall closed until further notice.

Boone – Boone Open Bible has cancelled Sunday service, Lift Student Ministries and Kids Club through the end of the month.

Boone – Salvation Army – Social service programs are by appointment only. Food pantry is through a Drive-Up service – pull into the driveway and call 515-430-5770 to let staff know you’ve arrived. Utility/rent assistance conducted via phone.  Walk in service is suspended until further notice.  Church services and programs are suspended until further notice. Beginning Tuesday,April 7th The Salvation Army of Boone will start giving away dog food, cat food, and cat litter through its Food Pantry service. Supplies will be limited,and appointments will be necessary in order to receive this service.During this time The Salvation Army is continuing to accept various donations.If you are interested in donating food or personal care items, please contact The Salvation Army at 515-432-5770 for more information on how to donate during COVID-19. If you are interested in giving a monetary donation, please send checks to The Salvation Army of Boone via PO Box 307, Boone, IA 50036. Mark “COVID-19 Response”in the memo line.

Boone – Stonebridge Church – No Sunday morning services or Wednesday night Forged youth group at Stonebridge Church moving forward until further notice. Will be streaming online at Sundays at 9 am on their Facebook page.

Boone – United Community School-  all school buildings, events, practices, and activities are canceled until further notice.  Childcare closed.

Boone – Trinity Lutheran Church services are cancelled until further notice.  However, the services will still be available to listen to at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings on KWBG 1590 AM.

Boone – VFW – Friday’s Fish Fry and Trivia are CANCELLED until further notice. Canteen will be closed as well.

Boone and Ogden – Vision Bank –  all branch lobby areas will remain open but, by appointment only.

Boone County – Boone County Catholic Churches have cancelled all public services and activities through May 10th.  By order of the Bishop, the church building need to remain closed and locked.  The buildings are no longer open for prayer.

Boone County – Boone County Fairgrounds – the fair office and  all events cancelled through April 12th.

Boone County- Boone County Landfill – has made some temporary procedural changes. It is advised to call the Landfill at 515-433-0591 first, before coming out to the landfill, to find out more information.  Free Yard Waste Days will commence as of April 1, 2020 and continue through the end of May.

Boone County – Boone County Recycling – no business pick ups

Boone County – Boone County Clerk of Courts is open to the public, but suggests you call first 515-433-0561.  If you have received a notice about jury duty, please follow the instructions on the card and complete the online questionnaire.  All criminal jury trials are postponed until at least April 20th, but you do need to complete the questionnaire and will in all likelihood receive an excusal. Anyone who must come into the clerk of court office and/or judicial branch occupied space must be wearing a face covering of some sort. This can be as simple as a scarf or bandana so long as it covers the mouth and nose.

Boone County – Congregate Meals in Boone County (all locations) will be suspended until at least April 17th.  However, for now, the congregate meal sites are now offering home meal delivery.  The Boone County sites are participating in this effort.  Geared to serve Boone County residents over the age of 60, you make call 515-432-1127 to make arrangements for temporary congregate meal home delivery.

Boone County – Courthouse will have limited access. Each office will post outside their door how they are operating. Much county business can be done via www.boonecounty.iowa.gov or by phone. These procedures are expected to remain through at least April 10.

Boone County – Iowa State Extension and Outreach – closed to the public until May 31st. Accepting calls and emails.  There will be no programs until after that date.

State of Iowa – DNR events have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Safety of our users, attendees, partners and staff is most important. When possible, events will be rescheduled and that information will be distributed accordingly. Please check this site frequently for the latest closures, postponements and updates.

Madrid – City Clerk’s office closed to the public until further notice. Calls will be answered and utility payments processed. Dropbox by front door available for payments. Can also pay utilities online at www.madridiowa.org

Madrid – Community four year old preschool closed until further notice

Madrid – Iowa Arboretum-No programs

Madrid – Madrid Homes – Closed to visitors

Madrid – Madrid Schools – closed until April 30th.  No events or activities until further notice.  All business to take place at the administrative offices as offices at the elementary and Jr/Sr High buildings are closed.

Madrid – Madrid Schools – Meals for students available at the west side of elementary school. Grab and go. 11:30 – 1:00. More info on Food Service Twitter Account and both building Facebook Accounts.  This is for anyone 18 and under.  Need not qualify for free and reduced.

Madrid – Madrid Library is closed

Madrid – all playground equipment, shelters, and restrooms at Madrid City Parks and at Madrid Elementary School are CLOSED until further notice.Caution tape will be utilized to identify the restricted areas at all affected locations. Park visitors are asked to adhere to all closure notices and current social distancing recommendations. Please communicate this to your children to ensure their understanding and to reinforce the importance of these closures to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

Madrid – St Paul’s Church – all church activities  are cancelled. Worship/prayers/announcements will be live-streamed on their Facebook page at 10:30AM Sunday

Ogden – Accura HealthCare – closed to visitors

Ogden –  City of Ogden –  facilities will remain closed until further notice.

Ogden – Leonard Good Community Library – closed until further notice. To make a request for curbside service, please check the library website.

Ogden – Ogden Community Schools – all school buildings, events, practices, and activities are canceled until further notice.

Ogden – Ogden Community Schools – Grab and go meals will be available for those 18 and under.  Drive up distribution will be through the high school cafeteria; pull through the main drive to the Activities Entrance at the NE corner of the building and remain in your car.  A staff member will come to your vehicle.  Children need not be in vehicle, and you do not have to qualify for free and reduced.

Ogden – Community United Methodist Church – no services until further notice but the services will be online at www.cumcogden.org by Sunday 10 am to view at their leisure.

United States – The U.S. Treasury Department and (IRS) announced on March 19 th that payments due on April 15, 2020, are deferred until July 15, 2020, without penalties or interest.  On March 20th, the filing deadline is also extended until July 15, 2020.

 

APRIL

Madrid – Madrid Bird Friendly City kickoff workshop originally scheduled for 4/18, postponed. New date TBA

Boone – Linda McCann’s presentation about The Cedar Valley Route – The Story of the Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Northern Railroad, scheduled for Saturday, April 18th at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum has been cancelled.

Boone – Free Clinic in Boone is open for med results only (4/21/20)

Boone County – Boone County Veterans Fair scheduled for April 22nd is postponed

Boone – BCH Diabetes Support group is cancelled for April
