On Sunday, the Iowa Department of Public Health identified 528 new cases of coronavirus in our state, down from the 757 COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday. Iowa has now had 9,169 cases of coronavirus which have caused 184 deaths. Nine of those occurred in the last twenty-four hours: two each in Black Hawk, Poweshiek, and Polk Counties, along with one apiece in Dubuque, Bremer, and Dallas Counties. Seventy-seven percent of the new cases of coronavirus came from the 22 counties where restrictions remain in place and every new death was an Iowan 61 years of age or older. From Saturday to Sunday in central Iowa, 126 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in Polk County for a total of 1,476, 22 in Dallas for 537, 1 in Story for 33, and 1 in Greene County for 11 overall. The Hamilton County total remains at 7, there have been 6 cases in Webster, and 23 in Boone County, where 4 patients have recovered from coronavirus and 333 residents have been tested.
