On Sunday, the Iowa Department of Public Health identified 288 new cases of coronavirus in our state, an increase from the 214 COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday. Iowa has now had 11,959 cases of coronavirus, which have resulted in 265 deaths: 9 in Saturday’s update and 13 on Sunday. In central Iowa, from Saturday to Sunday, 43 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in Polk County for a total of 2,238, 16 in Dallas for 676, 3 in Story for 58, and 1 in Hamilton County for 10 overall. The Greene County total remains at 13, there have been 9 cases in Webster, and 34 in Boone County, where no new cases were reported. Statewide, 46 coronavirus patients were admitted in the last twenty-four hours and that number is also up from the 30 additional Iowans who were hospitalized on Saturday.
