BOONE, Iowa—The Iowa State Patrol has identified the 39 year old Story City, Iowa woman that died as a result of a collision between her car and a dump truck Wednesday morning. The accident occurred about 8:50 a.m. when the car, driven by Lisa Pierce was crossing H Avenue on 170th Street. Pierce was traveling east and according to the report from the state patrol, failed to stop at the stop sign. Her car was struck broadside on the driver side by the truck owned by Boone County secondary roads and operated by 36 year old Issac Gannon or Ogden, Iowa. A passenger in the truck, 62 year old Joea Korte of Boone, was flown from the scene to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with serious injuries. Gannon was taken by a private vehicle to the Boone County Hospital to be treated for his injuries. According to the report, neither Gannon or Korte were wearing seatbelts when the collision occurred.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Ogden Police Department, Ogden Fire Department and Ogden EMS and Mercy One Helicopter. The investigation is being handled by the Iowa State Patrol.
