BOONE, Iowa—One of the projects being undertaken at the Greenspace at 8th and Story Streets in Boone is by the Boone Iowa Optimists Club.  The Optimist Club is responsible for the Avenue of Flags project where community members can purchase a subscription to display the U.S. Flag on designated holidays, the most recent was Independence Day and the next will be Labor Day.  The commitment carried over to the Greenspace project with the installation of flag poles, one of which already displays the U.S. Flag.

Optimists are planning an event for Sunday evening at 6:00 at the Greenspace to complete the display with a State of Iowa flag and flags for the City of Boone, and for the Police and Fire Departments.  The public is invited to attend in the event and participate.
