Optimist Club of Boone Hosts Greenspace Flag Dedication

BOONE, Iowa—The Optimist Club of Boone hosted a flag dedication event at the Greenspace in downtown Boone Sunday evening.  Optimist have participated in the Greenspace Project by installing flag poles on the north side of the space.  State Representative Phil Thompson (R) Jefferson secured a State of Iowa flag that had flown over the State Capitol for the project.  Members of the Boone Police Department and the Boone Fire Department were on hand to raise flags recognizing the Blue Line and Red Line respectively.  Boone Mayor John Slight participated by raising the Boone City Flag.  Optimists also provided refreshments for those attending.
