Drought Conditions Continue to Expand in Iowa

UNDATED, Iowa—The updated drought report was released Thursday and showed a continuing expansion in Iowa.  Areas of Moderate Drought (D1) and Severe Drought (D2) expanded in western and northeastern Iowa in response to short-term precipitation deficits during the past 60-day period, dry soils, and agricultural impacts including reports of supplemental feeding from deteriorating pasture conditions, water hauling, and reductions in corn yields were reported.
