BOONE, Iowa—Four Boone County residents were elected to the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Boone County Council in the Nov. 3 general election. They are Kyle Chesnut, Boone, Andrew Heinemen, Ogden, Kim Rinker, Ogden, and Doris Stotts, Boone.
Current members of the county extension council who were re-elected to four-year terms are Kyle Chesnut, Kim Rinker and Doris Stotts. New members who will join the council in January 2021 are Andrew Heineman. Heineman will replace Charles Irwin.
Carryover county extension council members whose terms expire at the end of 2022 are Donna Monson, Jeff Erb, Tom Kauffman, Ron Swanson, and Cheryl Tevis-Lingren. Council members elected in November will begin their terms in January and the council will meet in early January to elect officers.
The extension council is the county’s governing body in partnership with ISU Extension and Outreach. Extension council members hire county staff, manage the county extension budget of approximately $260,000 and help determine programming, said Donna Monson, ISU Extension and Outreach Boone County council chair.
