BOONE, Iowa—A 31 year old Ames man was flown to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines by Lifeflight, following a two vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 30 near Noble Hills Lane in Boone County Thursday evening. According to the report from the Iowa State Patrol, a 2006 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Lochland James Monahan of Ames, Iowa was traveling west in the west bound lanes of Highway 30 when he rear-ended a west bound, 2004 Pontiac Montana, operated by 68 year old Jackquiline Marie Holmquist of Ogden, Iowa. According to the investigation, both vehicles entered the median and rolled, ending up facing east in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30.
Authorities say that Monahan was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Holmquist and her passenger 47 year old Billie Jo Page of Ogden were wearing seatbelts. Both were transported to the Boone County Hospital by the Boone County Ambulance.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Boone Police Department, Boone Fire Department, Boone County Ambulance and Lifeflight.
