The snow ordinance will be in effect for the City of Boone beginning Sunday night at 11 for the business district only. If your vehicle is parked on a street in downtown Boone after 11:00, it will be ticketed and towed.

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Water Environment Station in McHose Park recorded 6.8 inches of snow at 8:00 a.m. Saturday. The largest single one-day snow event in the past several years. Total moisture content, including the rain that fell before transitioning to snow overnight, .92 inches.

BOONE, Iowa—The weekly drought monitor shows very little change in the dry conditions affecting Boone County. The majority of the county is still considered abnormally dry and the northwest corner of the county, around Boxholm is consider in moderate drought.

BOONE, Iowa—The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that cuts diagonally across the state and includes Boone County. The advisory projects accumulating snow, in some areas as much as 6″ of snow. Travel could be hazardous.
