BOONE, Iowa—At the end of every year, the Boone City Council approves Tax Abatement applications for qualifying construction projects that occurred during the year. For 2020, the council received applications for both residential and commercial property. Residential applications totaled $4,182,600 and Commercial applications amounted to $1,796,175.
The residential applications included 11 new townhomes and 5 new single family homes. There were several qualifying remodeling projects.
Commercial applications included new construction for Boone Family Chiropractic, TKH, LLC and Scooters. Other commercial applications were for remodeling projects.
