DES MOINES, Iowa—The weekly fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship shows another increase in Natural Gas prices. The price rose $.29 at the Henry Hub reporting site and currently priced at $2.73/MMbtu.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $1.99 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $50.45.
- Brent crude oil rose $3.01 and currently priced at $54.36.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $63.27 and Brent crude was at $70.25.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, January 6, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.20 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices were steady from last week’s price and $.18 lower than one year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $2.27, up $.02 from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose $.02 this week with a statewide average of $2.46.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.87 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is $.11 less than the national average of $2.57.
- Wholesale ethanol rose $.07, currently at $1.49.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.43 for U87-E10, $1.56 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.60, ULSD#1 is at $1.73, and E-70 priced at $1.53 per gallon.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices were up $.04 with a statewide average of $1.22 per gallon.
- Home heating oil was steady from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.02 per gallon.
- Natural Gas prices rose $.29 at the Henry Hub reporting site and currently priced at $2.73/MMbtu.
