U of I Conducting Drinking Water Tests for Lead

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Health and Sanitation is encouraging Boone County residents with a concern about lead levels in their drinking water.  Daniel Ramirez, Code Enforcement Officer for Boone County says the program is available for those that wish to participate.  On Tuned In Monday, he said the county is not involved, but is available if people have questions.

How do I perform the test?

It’s pretty simple: The kits contain three bottles and instructions on how to fill each with tap water and return them to the university for lab testing.
