BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Fair Board is excited to announce that they will host the 3rd Annual Fair Fundraiser. The event will take place on March 13, 2021 at the Community Building at the Fairgrounds, with a few changes to accommodate for COVID-19 protocols. This year’s event will be offered in-person or virtual!
The evening will begin with a social hour, a meal catered and served by Lidderdale Country Store and the silent and live auctions. To close out the evening the local band, Burnin’ Sensations will play a live concert. This concert will give you a preview of the 2021 Boone County Fair as they will be our FREE Friday night entertainment on the Leonard Good Stage.
In-person tickets for the Fair Fundraiser will be sold by tables of six people, limiting total attendance to 150. All guests will be required to wear a mask when not seated at their table. These efforts will help keep attendees safe and accommodate social distancing.
Since in-person attendance is limited, the fair board decided to also offer a virtual option for the event. Virtual tickets will be sold individually and will include a “to-go” meal and livestream access to the Fair Fundraiser, including the concert. New this year will be online bidding opportunities. Online bidding will allow attendees, in-person or virtual, to bid on auction items before and during the event. This will also help reduce contact points at the in-person event as another step in keeping the attendees safe.
Proceeds generated from the event will help pay for judges for 4-H and FFA events during the Fair as well as fairgrounds improvement projects. The fair board is currently seeking auction items for the live and silent auction. If you are unable to attend, in-person or virtually, but would still like to donate, please contact the fair office at (515) 432-5899.
