BOONE, Iowa—Funeral arrangements have been set for 73 year old Joyce Mitchell of Boone, Iowa. Joyce passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She had been a resident of the Eastern Star Masonic Home since January 27th, 2021.

She was born on August 19, 1947 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde Williams and Arletta (Craven) Williams. On May 5, 1970 she married Harold Mitchell. Joyce graduated from Boone High School in 1965. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.

Joyce loved spending time with family and friends. Those that loved her will never forget her fighting spirit during tough times, her ability to always see the good in others, and her kind heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Mitchell; and brothers: Robert Williams and Richard Williams.

She leaves behind a son Tom Mitchell; daughter Kim Crandell; granddaughter Caitlin Turnbow, and granddaughter Holly Crandell.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Boone with Bishop Tyler Patterson officiating. Burial will take place at Boone Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the memorial service. Those attending the service will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
