BOONE, Iowa—As a public water supply, the Boone City Water Works is required to conduct certain testing throughout the year to insure the users of the water supply have safe drinking water. The testing is required by the Environmental Protection Agency. The Consumer Confidence Report for 2021 has been released by the City Water Works and once again has shown no violations from the previous year. The report is available on the Boone City website.
City Engineer Dan Scott noted that staff at the Boone Water Works was able to maintain the safety of the water supply even during the very dry, drought impacted second half of 2020.
