BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Municipal Band officially began it’s 2021 season with a concert at the Herman Park Pavilion on Wednesday eveing. Band Director Chris Truckenmiller said earlier this week that the two previous Wednesday’s were actually rehearsals for the band. He said that the outdoor venue was selected for rehearsal because of the changing coronavirus guidelines.
Fortunately, the Herman Park Pavilion allows for people to spread out and that did happen. It also allows the band to spread out. Truckenmiller says there will be a pop-up concert on Wednesday, June 16th and details on that will be forthcoming. The Boone Big Band will play on June 23rd. There will be a 4th of July Concert at the Pavilion and the Boone Municipal Band Festival will return July 10th.
