BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle that was involved in an accident early Friday morning in eastern Boone County. A social media post by the Sheriff’s Department says: In the very early morning hours of Friday, July 23rd the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dark colored SUV that went into the South ditch of Highway 30 at W Avenue before driving out of the ditch and continuing southbound on W Avenue. This accident caused heavy damage to a Midland Power high voltage box and heavy damage to the front end of the vehicle.
Based on parts left at the scene it has been determined that the vehicle is a dark colored 2017-2021 Mazda CX-5, similar to the image attached to this post.
