DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service has made available information from the U.S. Drought Monitor about the drought conditions in Iowa. The update for the Drought Monitor was released Tuesday. Increases were noted in the Extreme Drought areas northeast of Boone County and in North Central Iowa spreading into Southern Minnesota. Boone County continues to have severe drought conditions for about two-thirds to three-quarters of the county. The southwest corner is reporting moderate drought conditions.
