Boone County Historical Society Hosts Fareway Day

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Historical Society will be hosting Fareway Day, Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Historical Center. Sixth Street, on the south side of the center is be closed to traffic during the event.  The Fareway Day event will feature the recently completed Fareway exhibit and will help celebrate 83 years of Fareway history.

The event is free and will also have Fareway eats of the grilling truck.  Recently on the KWBG “Tuned In” Program, Fred Greiner, now retired from Fareway, volunteered to help get the exhibit set up said they were pleased to get the exhibit completed.  Jeanne Wiebke, also a volunteer for the Historical Society, also said they want people to tell them their Fareway story, and they look forward to making that part of the exhibit.

The public is welcome and the event is free.
